The afternoon sun was hot on the ivory goddess's pearly coat as she entered into the large open expanse. The shadows of the occasional tree stretched across the plain and offered cool refreshment to her hide. The grass was rich in colour here and it seemed to stay light out longer than other kingdoms. The birds were alive with chatter as new ones hatched; this delighted the mare who loved cherished and nurtured new life. It also made her yearn for her own children. Images of the war that passed flashed through her mind, she hoped more than anything that her loved ones were alive and well. Poor Layla, her gorgeous daughter whose heart was colder than ice seemed to misunderstand life. Layla had tormented her brother and bred with the brute who separated Vita from her body. None of that mattered now, she was alive and she loved her daughter regardless of her continuous bad mistakes. She came to this calm bright terra to see Jeremiah since everyone seemed to have disappeared she needed to know he was still alive, this land had been his before prophets moved in but now seemed empty. Even Nyteic her one true forever love was gone, but she trusted that he was alive somewhere. The whole world seemed empty, gone into hiding or to grieve lost soldiers she assumed. The war was a big regret for the porcelain damsel, an unnecessary event that she wished she had stopped. So many innocent lives lost for a difference in beliefs. Now it was the calm mare’s time to put the pieces back together and try and create tranquility in the world.

Jeremiah walked calmly through his lands, his large golden crown sweeping from side to side. He hadn't been home in years. Things had really gone down the drain when Laioni had taken over. His mother Vita had disappeared, and Nyteic was soon to follow. That left him, Layla, and his lover Persephine to watch over the lands. But Layla had done too much damage, and he'd been forced to retreat, leaving after most of the mortals did. Then he'd heard that Nyteic has gotten Laioni pregnant, and he had to come see for himself.
In truth, the witch had been pregnant with his seed. And his mother Vita had protected the foal, and out came the new Dark Princess. Lailani was now raising together her army again, and she was being led by his dark sister Layla. Things could only get worse from here. Sighing deeply, the stallion shook his head and picked up a trot. Something in his peaceful lands changed just then, and he jolted to a stop, his auds perked upon his crown, his nares flaring. He knew that scent, and yet it seemed like he hadn't smelt it in a millennium. In a flash, the golden stallion was off and running for the horse in his lands.
His lands were for those that were seeking refuge, or those who wanted to find peace. He knew automatically when someone entered his lands, and yet he hadn't felt this horse's presence until now. Jeremiah slowed as he neared the spot where he'd felt an unearthly presence. He dipped his head in respect, and a soft yet gruff voice reached out to the auds of the mare in front of him. "Welcome home mother," he almost whispered, a smile on his mug and a twinkle in his eye.

She could hear his excited thoughts before any other senses acknowledged the approach of the golden prince. The birds briefly quieted at the advance, startled by the movement. The pure damsel’s heart lifted at the sight of the healthy sire, he appeared to be unblemished and in bright spirits considering all that happened. Inside his glowing cranium was much like her own with peaceful, kind thoughts and Vita felt comfortable there unlike many other equines minds. Tears came to her eyes; she was so happy to see him and could never describe how much she loved him. His words and the smile on his muzzle tugged at her heart and she realized then how long she had been gone and how much she missed him.
She closed the gap and reached out to instinctually scratch his neck and sun coloured withers. He wasn’t a child anymore and tried to do so respectfully without embarrassing him.
“Thank you son, it’s good to be home. I’ve missed you so much.” Her thoughts rang in his head clearer than spoken words. Her own voice sounded mortal and embarrassing so the goddess spoke with her telepathy. It was easier to convey emotion and feeling through brainwork’s, she never had to struggle with finding the right word; the theory, feeling or image could be conveyed without words like now she asked him what had happened, where everyone had gone, Pereshine, Layla, and the one she worried about the most: what had happened to her dear Nyteic, without using prose.

SO TAKE ME AND MAKE ME WHOLE AND THEN SAVE ME THIS HATE THAT YOU GAVE IT FEELS LIKE THE SAME THING [/size]
Ebony hooves moved, the busking painted mare such a beauty, such a darling beauty as her white and black train followed her, the scars on her pelt shining in the light as the near immortal lass was finally healing. It was a war she was born into , her path, her followers, they all love. The emerald eyes eased out, all knowing and wise though she was far younger than the two immortals that she scented in the air, in truth she felt she had experienced more in life. Her light heart writhing with anger to find her home was no longer hers, her heard was no longer hear, and in the heart of the land that was her birth right that she obtained at such a tender age the golden stallion sat on mount high with a fig in his mouth and a coat that had seen better days.
She growled it was a low something that made the sky rumble and clouds collide, the contessa moved, her hooves with one purpose, and it was a bitter one. Its funny how the land changed with the war, even the lights who stayed during that era of terror had changed. They were all in a certain life dark it would seem, the pinks of her nostrils flared with a certain fire similar to that of the Layla's, only this fire was in her heart, a deep burning angry one. He was never there, she had never seen the golden stallion that was her father, and even in the darkest of times when they said to pray to the great god Vita for protection she was never as one after another herds were ransacked by criminal vagrants.
She caught the woulds as she approached, her slow and steady steps arriving sooner rather than later.
“Funny you two should mention home. I should fear the times when the royal lands of the Lights belong to cowards.”
Her words were venomous, harsh with the times of war, then again she was not raised light but neutral under the watch of a schizophrenic stallion by the name of Synister lullaby, she was his ward of sorts for quite some time as her mother fought the war. Never fear she never knew she was left there for her protection, she didn’t know anything really no one bothered to stick around in her life to tell her the important things. It was a prophet who enlightened her on the truth, it was Lullaby who urged her to take her place. He raised her ruthless, she was good for the war, she was not the light hearted dame her mother was, though kindness was abundant but rather cold and distant.
“They say home is where your heart is...”
she mused, cat like as she raised her head.
“So tell me, when the souls of the innocent were crying out for help and the lands were burning, could you feel it in that ever lasting heart of yours?”
Her anger, it was apparent with ever spoken word though her body was calm and cool.
“Funny, I always thought we would meet under better circumstances, but only one stallion can pull these lands away from me, its quite nice to meet you father.”

Jeremiah embraced his mother, his golden neck arching to wrap around hers, hugging her. She scratched at his neck and withers, and she smiled at him. He could see the tears brimming in her big eyes, and he nuzzled her affectionately. He had missed her so much. Before he could even answer her though, he felt another presence coming upon them. He turned his crown to meet the young mare that had settled amongst them. She was clearly agitated. Huffing, Jeremiah turned his full body towards her, listening to her rant.
He may be the Light King and he may have lots of compassion and love inside of him, but Jeremiah was a God, and he was not going to let someone speak like this to him. Her anger was evident in her voice. When she finally acknowledged him as her father, Jeremiah nodded his head. So he now would answer her questions. Although not pleased with her tone of voice, he did his best to sound calm.
"In truth, my heart did feel the pain of our people. My heart felt such pain, that my soul could no longer hold this form, and I was lost. I was lost to this world, to this life, to my realm, and my own existence. Do not attempt to blame me for leaving. The was was lost, Layla had been too strong. And Laioni had been the same, until she too went crazy. Oh daughter of mine, you seem to think that I abandoned our people. But I simply could not bear their pain any longer."
Jeremiah looked to his mother, to see if she too would make a statement. Clairvoyence had become quite wise in her age, that much he could tell. But she was still insolent and angsty. She thought that Jeremiah had purposely left these lands, that he had simply abandoned their people. In truth he had left, but he hadn’t been able to bear the weight of sorrow. His soul truly had exploded from his body, no longer able to take his form. He hadn’t left on purpose.
”I understand your anger daughter. And I want you to know that as I have come to find myself again, I have also found a leader in you. I do not tend to fully remove you from leader of this land. I only intend to make this my domain once more. You are of course allowed to stay here. As you have been such a good leader to these people, you have more knowledge of what has happened since I… left. Please, tell me how things have been. May we have a more civil conversation.”

The stream of emotions never ceased for the colourless vixen, the scent and physical resemblance to Jeremiah was apparent, this was the goddess’s grandchild. Her appearance was stunning despite her scars, obvious that royal blood pulsed through her veins. The terra itself seemed to darken slightly with her approach. Vita could feel the anger transferring into her own heart and blamed herself. Being immortal was a curse at times; she was born into the responsibility of the world and undeserving of such a fate. Her failure was everywhere, showing in the scars of survivors and the large number of lost soldiers. Anger for Oriel, for her own negligence and loss of power flared as the ebony and ivory pelted mare spoke. Some days she wished she could die to escape all the pain, guilt and remorse. Vita saw herself through her granddaughter’s emerald eyes and hated it.
With the golden prince’s calm demeanour, the pearly femme was able to regain control over her own mind. She loved her kin regardless of the resentment and ill thoughts. The past cannot be changed, they were lucky to be given this chance to try again. She had never meant to leave, it was Oriel who had somehow separated her soul from earthly form; she spent years wandering the lands as a lost spirit carried by the wind and miraculously one day was reunited with this angelic physical form. There were still so many unanswered questions.
A cool summer breeze played with ivory tassles, pushing them from her cobalt eyes. It was a nervous habit to play with elements like tapping hooves.
It is so nice to finally meet you in my physical form, grandchild. Her thoughts were sincere, impossible to lie and hinted at the regret the goddess felt. I’m so sorry you feel we abandoned you and your people, we never meant too. I’ve been gone for far too long and don’t quite understand how I made it back. But I am here and I will do my best to bring peace back. I’m stronger than ever. I only want to help, not to take power away, just tell me how I can begin to rebuild our people and our home?
