I actually am not even sure what a brush is, really, although I used a simple one (i think) on the Jeremiah's Kingdom pic^^, if you look hard there's a faint yellowish texture around the edges... anway, I saw some on the web to download, but I don't know how to use them once I get them unzipped or even if I can on Picture It!....
do you have any explanations of brushes? I feel kind of stupid asking, though.

ahh, I do see the yellow. Anyways brushes are these neat little things that make pictures so much easier. The swirl that I added to the pic is a brush, the flames added to Layla's Domain pic were a few different brushes and the butterflies and the other smear in the heading were all done with brushes. You can get almost anything from sparkles to faires, water (effects like rain, drops or even waterfalls) and trees and all sorts of cool stuff!!
As to use it, I have no idea about PIcture it but once you've downloaded some and unzipped it, inside your program when you click on the brush tool check everywhere for a button or link that says load brush(es) and from there you simple open the file...
hope that helps
