 Falling Light
« Thread Started on Jul 29, 2008, 11:58pm »

Fall ran carefully along the edge of the valley. The fae's hide now held a bit of a shimmer and she was no longer skin and bones. Ropey tastels floated in the wind. She looked like a proper mustang, rugged and wild in a beautiful way. The freedom shone in her eyes causing a twinkle in the clear brown orbs. Fall's nostrils flared as she checked the air for other horses before she carefully picked her way down the rocky path leading to the hidden pond, fed by the trickling spring that lapped at its edge. She stayed alert for other hoof beats along with other noises as she headed for the still-as-glass water. As she sipped the sweet, cool liquid, she looked at her surroundings. The area was sucluded at this time of day and the silence was welcoming to her. Suddenly Fall's head flew up as she heard the crash of approching horses. The noise was coming from the trees so she had a little time before they would see her. Turning, the fae darted into a cave like crevice in the side of one of the surrounding hills. She held a speed that was unknown in faes. Though she didnt know it, she could have outrun the whole herd and they wouldnt have seen her, she would have been so far ahead. Racing was in her blood and you could tell by the stature of her body. The long legged, skiny body of her tb heratige could only mean speed and grace. She waited in the crevic, her heart beat pounding in her ears, waithing for the horse or horses to pass on. She calmed her breathing, hoping they wouldn't hear her. The cave was eerily quiet, but the thunder of hooves scared her and she backed into the cave further waiting for her rump to bump into the cold end of the cave.

Shirouyeh’s hooves brushed themselves along the surface of the snow, moving towards the familiar unclaimed plains where the homeless become homed. For a lead stallion, the unclaimed plains become pretty familiar, as he must search for more mares to add to his growing herd. He had a duty to fulfil and that is to make his herd stronger to survive this winter, especially since he has never seen a winter before. He looked down at the snow most of the time, used his hooves to move it around trying to figure out what it is. He looked quite hopeless, even fore a stallion. He was lucky no one was around, because it would be embarrassing for him to be found looking too curious. The snow seemed much like sand, but it had a bitter cold bite on it like Shirouyeh would never imagine. The trees over him looked dead as it weaved a patter that looked like skeletons and had hard dark bark being a barrier on it. The skies were grey with packs of clouds with only a few wholes revealing either light or blue, Shirouyeh could’ve even tell exactly what time of day it was.
His sharp strong head rose majestically we he heard a group of steeds charging down the empty peaceful land. His ears radared the area trying to pinpoint the location of the group of horses, he looked towards a clutch of trees and coves and gracefully walked down towards them. In his view came the puffs of clouds trailing behind the unknown horses as they left the scene, afterwards his eyes landed on the form of a fem. She raced across the earth escaping the mysterious group. I pressed myself against a dead looking skeleton of a bush, hiding behind its thick details patterns and having to be pocked by them. The mare snuck under a cave quite scarred, he watched as she took step by step in the shadows of the cave until her hide touched the wall of the back. A cloud opened the sun up and Shirouyeh became a silhouette as he stripped himself away from hiding in the bush and sliding down a slope of frozen soil and rocks to get himself to the same ground level as the young mare. The cloud once an again swallowed the sun and the globe was once again lighted by the rays of the sun fighting through the grey clouds. With his lead stallion head high, Shirouyeh brought his dark bay banner and black face and stockings closer to the cave but stopped a couple of metres away.

“Salom kuchektan khoneh. Greetings, m’lady. Is there a problem? If it was those horses you feared of they’re beyond us now so it is safe. Com’on out of the cave it must be colder there than out here.”

Fall waited for the sound of retreating flintbeats meaning that the harem was leaving after gaining thier fill of water. Her heartbeat raced like a new born foal whom had just found his racing legs as she hoped no one had seen her hide in her secret cave. She finally heard them fleeing and was about to step forward, front right flint raised from the chilled stone floor, when a form glided up to the opening of the cave. A quick breath filled her lungs and nares with the stench of a brute. She knew he had seen her the instand he spoke and she turned to run, slamming into the back of the cave as if his lyrics were throws to the body and head. Fall shivered, her sides still heaving from over exertion and now from fear. Her orbs twirled around doing a dizzy dance in her dream chest...the whites showing as she opened her maw in a silent scream. Flints waltzed as she kept watch of the brute whos lyrics, though in a calming song, scared her witless. Other horses scared her, but brutes terrified her to an extent beyond reasoning. She snapped her ivories trying to act as though she meant business when she knew perfectly well that the only thing she could do was maybe outrun him. And that could only happen if she soothed herself enough to force her pillars to stiffen from the billowing grass blades they had turned to...
